v Who He Was: He was one of the first Americans to become proficient at photography.
v His Role In The Civil War: During the Civil War, he and his ten photographers developed their plates on battle-field wagons and he was in charge of documenting the mass destruction of the Civil War.
v Why He Was Important: He was important because the thousands of photographs that he took have become the most important visual documentation of the Civil War. It has helped the historians understand the time period much easier and better.
v The Impact He Had On the United States And How It Affects Us Today: He impacted the United States by developing photographs of the Civil War Era; that became the most important visual documentations of that time period. It affects us today because it helps make historians understand how our world was back then.
