How to Wash Your Hands

Have you ever been so sick, you die? According to the CDC, washing your hands is the most effective way to avoid the spread of germs and bacteria. If germs spread, it can cause diseases and sickness, which could end the world! Diseases that can be spread by germs are common sicknesses, infections, lockjaw, and tetanus. This document will tell you the importance, necessities, and the instructions of washing your hands.

What You Will Need:
  • Water, enough to wet hands, hold them under for five seconds
  • Antibacterial hand soap in a bottle, 2 pumps minimum.
  • A water receptacle, or a faucet, commonly found in a bathroom
  • Dirty Hands from playing in the yard
  • A hand towel

Warnings or Hazards:
  • You may get soap in your eye, because soap can splash.
  • Over drying can cause a rash, or a red patch of skin, to occur.
  • If you have any open cuts or wounds, it will sting, because soap kills germs so harshly that it hurts you, too.

Step-by-Step Instructions:
  1. Walk to water receptacle
  2. Turn on faucet by turning the nozzle to the left
  3. Wet hands slightly until completely wet
  4. Turn off faucet by turning nozzles to the right
  5. Administer soap - minimum 2 pumps, preferably of antibacterial soap
  6. Work soap into lather until bubbles are white and fluffy
  7. Turn on faucet by turning faucet nozzles
  8. Place hands under water and rub them together
  9. Remove hands from water

10. Turn faucet off by turning the faucet nozzles
11. Shake excess water off of hands into sink
12. Dry hands until thoroughly dry with towel by rubbing your hands on the towel
