“Because of deep love, one is courageous. Because of frugality, one is generous. Because of not daring to be ahead of the world, one becomes the leader of the world.” (thinkexist.com, Lao Tzu) With her warm smile and giving heart, Ruthann Louise Lind Judkins Wright brings joy to people around her. Born on February 21, 1958, in the icy cold of Minnesota, she loves sewing and quilting. Her loving parents, Pearl Marion and Harold Eugene Lind were the biggest people who influenced her life and actions. Practicing what they preached, Ruth’s parents raised four kids in a disciplined household. Ruth's childhood was the start of a good life, her teenage years provided many life lessons, and her adult years up till now were spent reading, cooking, and raising two handsome boys. Even though growing up with three brothers was tough, Ruth still got her fair share of attention.
Ruth's childhood was a wonderful time in her life to grow and mature. With her three brothers, mom, and dad, money was tight, but they managed. Many creative meals were made. "Lunch meat" was the meat the kids found in their sandwich at lunch. Finally, digging into their sandwiches for many years, they figured out what the "lunch meat" was. Cow tongue is the most disgusting food Ruth has ever eaten. The thought of biting into a slippery, slimy sandwich makes anyone want to spit it out. Imagine tasting taste buds. Gross! Running at full speed inside the house was against the rules. Ruth did it anyways. With company over and her brother running after her, the glass dresser was closer than she thought. With a huge, bleeding elbow, Ruth walked out to her mom saying "I think I might've hurt my elbow." She learned her lesson: not to run in the house. After that, Ruth never ran in the house or got any injuries. This changed her few on living life. To be more careful of what you do. Her childhood was interesting but her teenage years were better.
Being a teenager is a once in a lifetime experience. Ruth learned how to drive from her dad, Harold. After many practices, Harold let Ruth drive on her own, right when the gas gauge was below empty. Ruth came back to the house and was so worried she would be in trouble but instead was fine. Always be sure you have enough gas to go somewhere before you start your car. Point Loma College offered many classes. Ruth loved all the classes she took. Some people, like Ruth, enjoyed home economics the most. Teenage years weren't the best years of her life but they did get better as she grew into an adult.
Being an adult is fun, but many responsibilities make it tough. Living in at least 5 different states and moving place to place your entire life makes one tired. After settling in Florida, Ruth has three gorgeous dogs. Hannah and her 2 kids, Pinky and Little Bit "Chunk," are the craziest Labrador retrievers ever. Always excited and eager for attention when she gets home, Ruth adores them and always give them treats. "How much easier is it to be generous than just." (Junius) These words describe Ruth. The biggest differences between now and her childhood are the responsibilities she had when she was a kid and the bills now. "The world is so different now with cell phones, TVs, and cars. Everything is so much more advanced and expensive," Ruth said.
Ruthann Louise Lind Judkins Wright has had a big influence on everyone she meets.
